The Virginia Center for Behavioral Rehabilitation (VCBR) was building a $62,000,000 secure facility in Burkeville, VA. VCBR needed a mechanical systems partner for this five building prison campus. They chose, Climate Control, Inc., a Comfort Systems USA company. The CSUSA team:
Showed high standards of quality and safety in their work
Demonstrated dedication to success of the project by coordinating with other trades
Stayed on track, within budget and completed construction ahead of schedule
VCBR is a secure facility dedicated to the treatment of sexually violent predators. Individuals committed to VCBR would otherwise be released into society upon completion of their prison sentences without specialized treatment to reduce their inclination to re-offend sexually. The program's comprehensive psycho-social treatment program works to reduce the re-offense risk of residents to the lowest possible level as part of Virginia's continuing commitment to protecting vulnerable citizens against sexual predators.
The Climate Control, Inc. team completed $7,340,000 in HVAC and plumbing work on this 174,485 sq. ft. campus that includes a kitchen/warehouse/security building, an administration building with a gym and medical center and three housing areas.
The team expertly installed steam fired hot water converters from a central system, two 190 ton packaged chillers, four energy recovery units in each of housing area, five variable air volume/constant volume air handler units in the administration building, and one variable air volume air handler and one constant volume air handler unit in the kitchen/warehouse/security building.
