As the design-build mechanical contractor, ACI's mechanical scope was clear: design, engineer and install the building mechanical, process piping and industrial HVAC systems.
S.I. Goldman, with a crew of no more than four mechanics, installed systems for high pressure (600 lb.) steam, low-pressure steam, de-ionized water, domestic cold water, low-pressure and high-pressure condensate and pump condensate. They also installed two boilers, one for low-pressure and one for high-pressure. In addition, S.I. Goldman had to install some specialty equipment for handling enzyme-based reactions, including Belgian manufactured fermenters and a hydrolizer.
S.I. Goldman's crew went above and beyond on this accelerated $100,000 job. Their part of the work was started in early July and finished by mid-August. In October, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held that included representatives from the Florida governor's office. The facility has been up and running ever since with no callbacks.
