The University of Delaware decided to build the Roselle Center for the Arts to provide a modern performing arts center adequate for the scale and reputation of a major university. Concerned about acoustic effects and comfort in a high space with curved architecture, they chose Delcard Associates, a Comfort Systems USA Company, because of their expertise. The CSUSA team:
Won two Excellence in Construction awards for their efforts
Adhered well to the project's highly aggressive schedule
Coordinated all mechanical and HVAC work with exceptionally close cooperation
The 92,000 sq. ft. facility includes a 5,000 sq. ft. orchestra hall, 32 student sound proof practice rooms, a recital hall for as many as 200 patrons in its 2,400-square-foot seating area, as well as a 670 sq. ft. stage and a 450-seat proscenium theater.
Delcard Associates was the ideal partner for this important job requiring a high level of skill and coordination. They were contracted for this project largely because of their expertise in sound and vibration isolation of mechanical equipment; special ductwork designs; and sound attenuation of HVAC systems via the use of attenuators and duct lining.
The Delcard project team went above and beyond for this $2,618,354 project by coordinated all mechanical and HVAC work, with exceptionally close cooperation with the architect and engineer. The Associated Builders and Contractors awarded Delcard a Delaware Excellence in Construction award as well as first place in the National Excellence in Construction category for this project.
